"Thanks to the concrete pressure monitoring with the PERI ISC, the concrete pressure on the formwork could be monitored live on a minute-by-minute basis during concreting of the 13 m high walls. This gave us enormous safety during the concreting process of the walls. Depending on the pressure development, the rising speed could be adjusted to the concrete pressure accordingly.

Thanks to PERI ISC, all walls from 11 m to 13 m high could be concreted even at outside temperatures of around 5°C without any concerns about the formwork pressure being too high.

Finally, PERI ISC was an excellent support during the concreting process with the focus on formwork pressure and climbing speed."

New construction of hall 1

Description

A new storage hall with dimensions of approx. 60 m x 70 m was built in Bassersdorf, Switzerland. The project also included three underground parking garages, storage areas, technical rooms as well as offices. For the construction of the 13 m high walls, PERI's MAXIMO panel formwork with InSite Construction pressure sensors was used, among other equipment.

Challenges

In addition to the demanding schedule, the high fresh concrete pressure posed a particular challenge during concreting of the 13 m high walls.

Solution and results

The MAXIMO formwork was equipped with the PREMO pressure sensors. The pressure sensors enabled the concrete pressure to be monitored live via a web application and the concreting speed to be optimally adapted to the formwork.

The concrete work could thus be completed quickly and safely.
